Kalashnikov Saiga-9 EXP

The SAIGA-9 EXP semi-automatic carbine, based on the 9-mm PP-19-01 Vityaz-SN submachine gun, was presented by Kalashnikov Concern to attendees and guests of the 4th ADEX 2022 Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition.

The carbine is intended for competitive shooting. The SAIGA-9 EXP can be used for practice at pistol-only ranges since it uses the 9×19 cartridge.

The new offering by Kalashnikov drew interest due to its simple and dependable straight blowback action, chrome-lined barrel and chamber, detachable flash suppressor, and the AK-EVO foldable and adjustable buttstock. The carbine’s handguard and grip are made of impact-resistant polymer.

A Picatinny rail is built into the hinged dust cover for mounting scopes and red-dot sights. Notably, the iron sights have been preserved. The magazines that come with the carbine have the exact same appearance as the ones used in combat weapons.

However, they are limited to holding 10 rounds. That said, magazines with a larger capacity may be used when competing in sporting events.

A case holding maintenance tools is included with the SAIGA-9 EXP carbine as well.
